Known locally as rAdelaide, Adelaide is known as the festival state and for good reason! ‘Mad March’ is an annual month of different festivals including the Fringe and WOMAD. In May the Royal Croquet Club comes to town and takes over Victoria Square for 2 weeks of epic music events + games of croquet.
Also within reach are the stunning wine regions of the Barossa Valley and Maclaren Vale. South Australia is famous for its wines and makes an especially good Shiraz! Not too far away, and reachable for a day trip or even better an overnight stay, is the wildlife haven of Kangaroo Island. Here you’ll find kangaroos, koalas, possums, seals and many more amazing opportunities to get up close and personal with Australia’s unique wildlife.
If it’s sealife that you’re after then Port Lincoln, located just a short flight or drive away, is definitely for you! Here you can cage dive with Great White Sharks and swim with sea lions.
