No visit to Cairns is complete without visiting the Great Barrier Reef. Whether you’re a pro-diver or just prefer to swim and snorkel, the beautiful marine life under the sea is a wonder to behold.
On dry land, and to get a completely different view of the surrounding areas of Cairns, why not explore the stunning Kuranda. This vibrant arts community is accessible by train or skyrail, or a mixture of both, and provides stunning views from above the rainforest canopy.
To understand the Tropical North properly head up through the relaxing elegant town of Port Douglas to the Daintree Rainforest. The Daintree is the oldest continually surviving tropical rainforest in the world, estimated to be 180 million years old. The rainforest, waterfalls and beaches of Cape Tribulation and the Atherton Tablelands provide the opportunity to get away from it all. Relax at the stunning beaches, take a walk through the rainforest and keep your eyes peeled for some of Australia’s most unique and special wildlife. As well as all of this Cairns is the activity centre of Australia and you’ll have the chance to go bungy jumping, skydiving, white water rafting and hot air ballooning!
