Noosa & Sunshine Coast

Noosa is a magical seaside town on Australia’s East Coast that has a bit of everything – beaches, lakes, national parks and the lush hinterland of Noosa National Park. One of Noosa’s main attractions is the unique 60km stretch of river and lake system that makes up the Noosa Everglades – one of only two Everglade environments in the world.

Nicknamed the mirror of rivers because of the amazing reflections in the water, spend the day here sailing, kite surfing or kayaking and get up close and personal with some local wildlife.

With more than a dozen beaches, bays and hidden coves, Noosa is the perfect place to feel the sun on your face and your toes in the sand. Noosa has been awarded Word Surfing Reserve status so it’s a great spot to rent a board for the day or take a surf lesson.

While you’re on the water, there are heaps of other activities to do like stand up paddle boarding, windsurfing, kite surfing and even swimming with humpback whales! If you prefer to stay on dry land, the Noosa Trail Network offers eight trails through the countryside for bushwalkers, birdwatchers, mountain bike riders and horse riders. There’s also the iconic Noosa Heads Boardwalk with some great coffee spots along the track, and the stunning Noosa National Park which is just a 15 minute walk from the town centre.

While you’re in the area it’s well worth visiting Australia Zoo, home of the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin. Australia Zoo plays a vital role in the fight for wildlife conservation through their Wildlife Hospital and zoological programs such as the endangered species breeding program.
