Auckland & Surrounds

Auckland is known as the ‘City of Sails’ because of its huge sailing culture. The viaduct and harbour areas of Auckland are great places to hang out and the food and social scene here is epic.

Visible from pretty much anywhere in the city is the iconic SkyTower which houses a casino and various restaurants including a revolving one near the top. The tower has a viewing area plus several activities that you can challenge yourself to!

192 metres above the city sits the famous Auckland Bungy as well as the SkyWalk – an exhilarating challenge you’ll never forget. Expect 360° panoramic views of Auckland and a rush of pure adrenaline as you inch along a narrow walkway around the ledge of Auckland’s Sky Tower.

There’s also the Auckland Bridge Climb, the chance to skydive or you can head to the safety of the Sky Tower viewing platform where they also have a selection of bars and restaurants.

If you feel like escaping the hustle and bustle then the islands of Rangitoto and Waiheke are only 35 minutes away by ferry. Both are easily accessible for a day trip to sample some excellent food and drink. Waiheke is famous for its wine, white sandy beaches and laid back fishing town vibes.

From Auckland there are several different day trips, as well as Rangitoto and Waiheke, including the beautiful Coromandel, magical Waitomo and exciting Hobbiton.

For a longer getaway head to the Winterless North where the beautiful Bay of Islands await you. Here you’ll find a plethora of outdoor and water activities and a laid back coastal lifestyle that you won’t want to say goodbye to.
