Queenstown & Wanaka

Queenstown is the home of adventure tourism and there are enough adrenaline-fuelled challenges, and awe-inspiring sights here to keep you busy for a whole year!

This beautiful little town sits on Lake Wakatipu, New Zealand’s longest lake at 80km, a Z-shaped lake formed by glacial processes, and has views of nearby mountains such as The Remarkables and Cecil Peak. The social scene here is top notch and offers plenty of awesome rooftop bars and excellent eateries.

Activities include bungy jumping, skydiving, jet boating, lake cruises, ziplining, paragliding and wine tours. We also highly recommend heading up the gondola, or don your hiking boots and tackle one of the many peaks available, where you’ll get the best views of this epic town.

Speaking of views, why not relax in a private hot pool at the Onsen Hot Pools with views across the Shotover Canyon, or enjoy a birds-eye view with a scenic flight over beautiful mountains and crystal clear Lake Wanaka.

Also easily reachable from Queenstown is the bucket-list destination of Milford Sound. This is a must-do whilst in the South Island and can be reached by scenic flight or coach. Milford Sound is best experienced by boat and there are several types of tour available and you can also hire a kayak and paddle through the Fiord!
